Your light will be delivered to you cocooned in a custom-made box and you should open it up immediately to check it has arrived in perfect condition (in the unlikely event that it is damaged, please email [email protected] or call 01747 448500 immediately.) If you’re not installing your light immediately, we recommend keeping it in its box to protect the shade. Wood veneer is a fragile material – if knocked it won’t shatter like glass but it can sustain dents and tears.
INSTALLING YOUR LIGHT
All our lights are suitable for use on 240V circuits and, in the case of the table lamps and floor lamps, you can plug them straight into a 240V circuit. With our pendant lights and wall lights, always employ the services of a qualified electrician.
Always use the recommended LED lightbulb. Use of any other lightbulb could lead to heat damage and could create a fire hazard.
Please note: our lights are specified for indoor use only and should not be subjected to damp conditions.
STORING YOUR LIGHT
To ensure longevity, it’s important to use and store your light in a dry environment. Wood veneer is a sensitive material and extremes of temperature, humidity or light can cause deformation, splitting and discolouration. So if you’re putting your light away for a while, box it up carefully (preferably in the original packaging) and keep it in a climate-controlled space.
Our veneer light shades are finished with a water-based satin lacquer, which provides an easy-to-care-for durable finish. Dusting regularly with a feather duster should keep your shade looking clean. The solid timber base of the table and floor lamps have a protective oil finish. Wipe them down using a damp cloth and then remove any moisture with a dry cloth.
